TJ Sportsman lost his life in a tragic accident when a semi struck his truck, boat and trailer last summer.  He was driving home after winning a tournament, the last tournament he would fish in his very short life.

TJ was a devoted husband, father, school teacher and avid fisherman. He will always be remembered as a positive inspiration to all who knew him.
He is survived by his beautiful wife Charity & two small children Drew & Abby in addition to his brother and sister, mom and a dad, and numerous friends and acquaintances.

This October 15 we will be celebrating TJ's life and the moments we all shared with him by hosting an OPEN Memorial Tournament in his honor. This event will be on the body of water TJ loved to fish the most, Lake Michigan. This event, the TJ SPORTSMAN MEMORIAL BASS TOURNAMENT, will commence from Waterfront Pub in Burnham, IL. All adjoining water including Lake Calumet, the Cal Sag channel and Lake Michigan will be legal waters to fish.

All proceeds from this event will go to TJ’s wife and children.  There will be a 50/50 draw along with a raffle for (2) Blackhawks Tickets for this upcoming season.

If you can find some free time on October 15th to fish, or even just attend the event and celebrate TJ’s life and accomplishments it would be greatly appreciated. We hope to see you there. TJ always wanted to see the boats come out! Let’s do it.

If you would just like to donate to TJ’s family, please visit the link to the GoFundMe page.

Thank you,
